Dad & Baby is built to help dads feel informed and prepared during pregnancy and early parenthood. We want to be upfront about what the App is and what it is not.
The information in Dad & Baby is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and it should never replace the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
In an Emergency
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 immediately.
For non-emergency medical advice, contact NHS 111 (available 24/7).
For mental health crisis support, call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year).
Pregnancy Guide Content
Our week-by-week pregnancy guides, tips, and educational content are based on publicly available NHS guidance and general health resources. They are designed to give dads a helpful overview of what to expect during pregnancy.
Every pregnancy is different. The information we provide reflects general patterns and may not apply to your specific situation. Always discuss any concerns or questions with your midwife, GP, or obstetrician.
Contraction Timer
The contraction timer is a guide only. It is designed to help you track the timing between contractions, but it does not diagnose labour or determine when you should go to hospital.
Always follow your healthcare team's specific advice on when to attend hospital or the birthing unit. If in doubt, call your maternity unit directly.
Mental Health Resources & Self-Assessments
Dad & Baby includes wellbeing check-ins and mood tracking features. These are screening tools designed to help you reflect on how you are feeling. They are not clinical diagnoses.
If you or your partner are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a professional. You are not alone, and support is available:
- Samaritans: 116 123 (free, 24/7)
- NHS 111: For non-emergency health advice
- Your GP: Can refer you for specialist support
- PANDAS Foundation: 0808 196 1776 (pre and postnatal depression support)
Pregnancy Risks Information
Where the App includes information about pregnancy risks, complications, or warning signs, this is provided for educational awareness only. It does not constitute medical diagnosis.
If you are concerned about any symptoms or complications, contact your healthcare provider immediately. Do not rely solely on information from any app, website, or online resource.
We care deeply about the health and wellbeing of the families who use Dad & Baby. That is exactly why we want to be clear: we are here to support and inform, but we are not a replacement for professional care.
